Friday Favorites: Hair Care

Ah, another joy of motherhood: thinning hair. With my first baby, I had that postpartum hair loss that made your eyes go wide. Tons of hair in my brush, those fun little wings of hair in the front... Fun. So I'm rounding up some of the hair care products I have put into my routine that makes my hair less dry and hopefully staying on my head.

One // Two // Three // Four // Five

There is something about turning 40 that makes a girl take a good look at her life. One change I made was finally accepting that I no longer could use the kids' shampoo (or my husband's Head and Shoulders) and I needed to invest in some salon-grade hair products. My hair gal, the beautiful and talented Shawna Mattson with Velvet Beauty with Soul (if you are in Missoula, MT there is no one better - she is seriously a color GENIUS), introduced me to Davines shampoo and I have never looked back. I love the last one I purchased from her with its deep moisturizing and unique tomato-based scent.

As I've mentioned, Montana is dry, dry, dry, especially during the winter. Maybe I will slap on a conditioning hair mask from Davines and read in the bath? Hhhmmm... sounds incredible.

I teach college students who are adorable and oh so trendy. I picked up some of these on-trend flower hair clips this summer and I feel youthful again! Just kidding, but they do add some serious fun to my ever-present mom bun.

Thinning hair falling out after having a baby = need to be gentle while brushing. Wet brushes are a staple in our house, for me and my little ones.

Love adding a cute scrunchie to my mom bun. These bunny ear silk scrunchies are soft and so sweet.
