July Book of the Month: Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood

Ali Hazelwood is the queen of a new niche in romance reads: quirky science girl + hot science guy = nerdy banter and steamy situations. I fell in love with Hazelwood's writing when I read her oh-so-popular Love Hypothesis (2021), and this is the third book I have picked up of hers.

I really liked this book. Short, sweet, and absolutely hilarious. I was laughing out loud on almost every page with Hazelwood's incredible banter between her characters. I felt like I was in on the funniest inside jokes of people I had known for a long time.

Though the relationship between our two main characters felt a little forced, I did like their chemistry. Maybe I've been reading too many epically long Fantasy fae series too but I needed a little more "oomf" from the main male character. Though his focus on consent and empowerment of his partner was refreshing to read.

Definitely a solid 4/5 rating. If you are looking for something light and fun for a weekend, this is your book.

Do you enjoy romance as a genre? It is kinda my go-to. I would love recommendations!

Happy reading!
